Scripture Reading: Psalm 46:10 — “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Reflection
In a world of noise, hurry and distraction, God invites us into a quiet place of stillness. The psalmist didn’t say “Be busy and know Me,” but “Be still, and know that I am God.” In the stillness we pause from striving, we breathe out the burdens, and we breathe in the presence of our Maker.
Walking in the quiet doesn’t mean that life’s storms vanish, but that we find a steady hand in the midst of them. In those moments of silence, our hearts become aware of God’s nearness, and our souls begin to whisper back, “You are here, Lord.” His presence becomes more real than our problems.
When we learn to dwell in those quiet places — early mornings before the rush, soft evenings after the demands, heart-prayers in the car or as we rest — we develop a rhythm of listening and being. God speaks differently in stillness: not always with a booming voice, but with a gentle whisper of “I am with you.”
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me into stillness with You. Help me to slow down, to quiet my heart, and to rest in Your presence. In the space between tasks and responsibilities, meet me there.
Lord, teach me to hear You in the silence. When the world shouts, let me choose to listen. When my mind races, let Your peace calm me. Show me that You are present in the quiet, and Your voice can be heard in the hush.
May I walk this day in the awareness of Your nearness. In the busy moments, let me remember this sacred truth, and in the quiet moments, may I remain with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
