Prayer for Forgiveness: Receiving God’s Grace and Mercy

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9 (NIV)

Prayer Devotional

We all fall short, but God’s grace is greater than our failures. Through confession and repentance, we find forgiveness and restoration in Christ.

Forgiveness is not only about being cleansed of sin—it also frees us from guilt and allows us to walk in newness of life. God’s mercy is always available to those who turn to Him with a sincere heart.

Today, don’t hold on to past mistakes. Bring them before God, and receive His promise of complete forgiveness.

Prayer

Father, I confess my sins before You and ask for Your forgiveness. Thank You for the mercy and grace You freely offer through Jesus Christ.

Cleanse me from all unrighteousness and restore my heart. Help me to turn away from sin and walk in obedience to Your Word.

Teach me to also extend forgiveness to others as You have forgiven me. May I live in the freedom of Your love and grace, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
