Scripture Reading
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Devotional Reflection
There are moments in every believer’s journey when God seems silent. Our prayers feel unanswered, and His presence feels distant. Yet in that stillness, God is not absent. His silence often carries purpose—it refines, reshapes, and prepares us for what’s ahead. The Psalmist reminds us to “be still,” not because nothing is happening, but because God is still working behind the scenes.
When heaven is quiet, our faith is tested. It’s easy to believe when we hear and see God’s hand at work. But mature faith listens in the silence and continues to trust when there is no visible sign. The same God who spoke to Abraham and led Moses through the wilderness is the same today—faithful even when He feels far away.
In times of silence, lean deeper into His Word. Spend quiet moments meditating on His promises. Allow the Holy Spirit to fill the space where words are few. Silence is often God’s classroom where endurance, humility, and unwavering faith are formed.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, when You seem silent, help me not to lose heart. Teach me to trust Your timing and Your ways even when I cannot trace them. Remind me that Your silence does not mean absence, and Your delay does not mean denial.
Grant me the patience to wait upon You with peace in my heart. Let Your Word be my comfort and Your presence my strength. Help me to listen in the stillness and to find rest in the assurance that You are near.
Lord, strengthen my faith during quiet seasons. Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight, trusting that You are always working for my good and Your glory — even in the silence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
