Abiding in the Vine: Staying Connected to Christ

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (NIV)

Devotional

Jesus reminds us that our spiritual life flows directly from Him, like branches connected to a vine. Without Him, we wither; with Him, we thrive and bear fruit that glorifies God.

Abiding in Christ means staying close to Him through prayer, His Word, and obedience. It’s not about striving harder, but about staying connected to the source of life and strength.

When we remain in Jesus, He produces in us the fruit of love, joy, peace, and faithfulness. The more we abide, the more our lives reflect Him to the world.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to abide in Christ each day. Keep me connected to Jesus, the true Vine, so that my life may bear lasting fruit for Your glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
