A Prayer for Wisdom in Decision-Making

Decisions surround us: big ones and small ones, each with potential to shape our lives. In those moments of uncertainty, the invitation is not to lean solely on our own understanding—but to ask our wise Father for guidance. James assures us that when we lack wisdom, we can ask, and God gives generously without reproach.

God’s wisdom doesn’t just tell us what to do. It helps us see who He is, how He works, and how we can align our steps with His will. It brings clarity in confusion, courage in hesitation, and peace when the future seems uncertain.

Prayer

Father, thank You for Your promise to give wisdom generously to those who ask. I come before You now, seeking Your clear direction for the choices before me. Guide my mind, open my heart, and speak to me by Your Spirit.

Lord, help me to discern not only the right path but also the timing and strength to walk it. Guard me against impulsive decisions and fear-driven choices. Grant me the humility to listen, the patience to wait, and the courage to act when You lead.

May my decisions reflect Your wisdom and bring honor to Your name. Use me as an instrument of Your guidance in this world. Let Your will be done through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
